Shade is the word most homeowners use, and it hides a decision that changes the whole budget, so pergola installation in Greenville, SC is worth separating from its roofed cousin early in a conversation. One structure filters the sun. The other stops the rain.

Stephen founded Paramount Outdoor Living in 2013, and the shade structures we have built across the Upstate since then divide cleanly into those two kinds.

Some backyards have everything going for them except a reason to go outside for extended periods of time.

That was the situation for a homeowner in Greenville, SC, who reached out to Paramount Outdoor Living last year. The yard was clean, and the patio was functional, but without any sense of definition, it sat empty most of the summer.
